Miraflores is Lima’s most straightforward base: clifftop parks, the Larco Museum nearby, and a wide choice of restaurants and hotels within walking distance of each other. Barranco trades some of that convenience for a bohemian, art-and-nightlife-led character a short taxi ride away, with its own strong dining and bar scene. San Isidro sits quieter and more residential, closer to Lima’s financial district and several embassies, and suits a stay built around business or a calmer evening routine.
None of the three is a wrong choice; naming the priority — convenience and museums, nightlife and art, or a quieter residential base — before booking tends to produce a more comfortable stay than assuming any one district is simply “Lima”.
