When Bruce Springsteen returned to Prague

The concert was public. The journey around it was personal.

Stories

On 28 May 2024, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band were due to play Airport Letňany in Prague. Under doctors’ direction, the show was postponed because of problems with Springsteen’s vocal cords. It returned on 15 June 2025 — almost thirteen months later.

For a group of devoted fans, the main reason for the journey was already in hand: tickets to a long-awaited live performance. The rescheduled date had become something people across Europe had anticipated for a very long time.

The work began after the tickets

They did not ask us to find the tickets. They asked for the parts around the event that would let people arriving from different places enjoy Prague and one another’s company without turning the weekend into a logistics exercise.

For this kind of trip, the performance is only one point in a longer shared ritual. Some people arrive early, some later. There are informal plans before the doors open, different expectations of the time in the city, and one fixed point at which everyone needs to be ready to go together.

Enough structure, without making it formal

We coordinated the elements that surrounded the performance: stays suited to different arrival patterns, transfers for most of the group, and a small number of optional ideas for time in the city. The centre of the plan was deliberately simple: arrive, meet up, reach the venue without uncertainty, then finish the shared weekend around one long, informal dinner with beer.

No two people needed precisely the same programme. What mattered was that the handovers were clear: where to be, when to leave, how to return, and how the final gathering would work for people who had spent the day differently.

The main memory belonged to the fans

We did not create the main memory of that weekend. The performance, the long wait for it and the community around it did that. Our role was smaller: to remove enough friction that the group could give its attention to the reason it had travelled in the first place.

That is sometimes the right scope for a request. The ticket may already be booked, the destination may already be chosen, and the useful work lies in making the surrounding journey feel joined up.

If the main event is already in place, we can still help make the journey around it worth remembering.
