Athens · experience
A full-day guided trip to the Delphi Archaeological Site and Museum, the Temple of Apollo and the Charioteer of Delphi, with free time in mountain-village Arachova.
The experience
The roughly three-hour drive each way passes through the Boeotia plains, with the licensed guide covering Greek mythology — the oracle, King Oedipus and Apollo — before a guided walk through the Delphi Archaeological Site: the Temple of Apollo, the Athenian Stoa and the Polygonal Wall.
The Archaeological Museum of Delphi follows, home to the Charioteer of Delphi and the Sphinx of Naxos, before free time in the mountainside village of Arachova for lunch (own expense) or simply to take in the setting before the drive back to Athens.
