Bangkok · experience
10–12 street-food tastings through Bangkok’s Chinatown with a licensed local guide, from Pad Thai and Som Tam to Yaowarat’s own specialities.
The experience
Yaowarat — Bangkok’s Chinatown — is one of the city’s densest street-food neighbourhoods, and this walk is built to make sense of it: a licensed local guide leads the group between ten and twelve stops, choosing vendors for their craft rather than their fame, and explaining the history and technique behind each dish along the way.
The tastings lean toward Bangkok’s classic street-food repertoire — Pad Thai, Som Tam and a run of Chinatown specialities among them — served at a comfortable, unhurried pace that leaves time to watch a vendor work and ask questions. Most vendors use pork with no substitute, so the tour does not suit vegetarian, vegan, halal or gluten-free diets; guests with other dietary needs are asked to flag them in advance.
Groups booked through the shared join-in option may be split without notice if numbers run high on a given evening; travelling parties who want to stay together throughout are better served by the private option.
