Ancient Siam: entry ticket

Thailand’s most significant temples and monuments, rebuilt to scale across 200 acres laid out in the shape of the country — the world’s largest open-air museum, about an hour from central Bangkok.

The experience

Thailand’s most famous buildings and monuments, rebuilt to scale across 200 acres shaped like the country itself.

Ancient Siam is the world’s largest open-air museum, its grounds laid out in the rough geographic shape of Thailand and populated with replicas — many full-scale — of the country’s most significant temples, palaces and monuments, gathered in one place rather than spread across a multi-week itinerary.

The scale rewards slow exploration: a tram or rented bicycle covers ground between the furthest replicas, while walking suits a closer look at any single pavilion. An audio guide in five languages, included with most tickets, adds context to each structure as you reach it.

Combination tickets pair the museum with the nearby Erawan Museum, or add extras such as an elephant-shaped rice ball snack or a Thai cooking class, both unique to Ancient Siam and bookable as add-ons at checkout.

Who this suits

A good choice when it matches the way you want to use the city.

  • Travellers who want a single overview of Thai architecture and history without a multi-city itinerary.
  • A half-day outside central Bangkok, ideally combined with the nearby Erawan Museum.
  • Photographers — the replica temples and monuments are spread across genuinely open, uncrowded grounds.
