This is a considered introduction to the UAE capital rather than a rushed loop: the day centres on Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the third-largest mosque in the world, where a guide explains the Swarovski chandeliers, patterned marble and the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet, and women are provided a clean abaya for the visit.
The premium route continues to Etihad Towers for 360-degree views from the 74th floor, then Qasr Al Watan, a functioning presidential palace open to the public, before a drive along the Abu Dhabi Corniche with its turquoise waters and skyline. A photo stop at the Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island and a pass by Emirates Palace round out the day.
