Karlovy Vary · experience
A private guided walk along the colonnades and springs, with the town’s Russian, Czechoslovak and modern history as well as its spa architecture.
The experience
A private guide takes your group along the Mill, Market and Park Colonnades, through Dvořák Park and past the Baroque and Art Nouveau spa houses built in the town’s nineteenth-century heyday, with the porcelain spa cups and the mineral springs themselves as part of the story.
The walk also covers what most introductions leave out: the Orthodox Church of St Peter and St Paul, the long Russian presence in the town, and Karlovy Vary’s place in Czechoslovak and modern Czech history. The route can be adjusted on the day to what interests you.
