A bilingual guide leads the group through an 18th-century mansion holding one of Peru’s finest collections of pre-Columbian pottery, textiles and precious metalwork, opened to the public in 1926 by collector Rafael Larco Hoyle.

The visit includes the museum’s Erotic Gallery, built from Larco Hoyle’s own 1960s research into how ancient Peruvian cultures depicted sexuality in ceramic form — now the largest such collection anywhere, and a fixture on lists of the world’s most unusual museums.
