The guide meets travellers in Piazza del Duomo and leads them to the lift entrance for the ride up to the rooftop of Italy’s largest cathedral, climbing a further set of steps to the highest level for views over the Milanese skyline and, on clear days, the Alps.
After taking in the golden statue of the Virgin Mary atop the Major spire, the group descends and enters the Cathedral itself through a special rooftop-to-nave route that skips the general admission line, with the guide explaining the stained glass, statues and the story of the “Holy Nail” along the way.
