Fifteen minutes in front of Leonardo’s Last Supper inside the UNESCO-listed Refectory, with a licensed guide explaining its history and technique.
The experience
The Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and its Refectory have been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1980, once part of a monastic complex belonging to the Dominican monks; a licensed local guide meets the group at the ticket office before entry.
Inside, the guide explains the perspective, composition and technique behind one of the Renaissance’s most famous wall paintings, along with the history of the site itself, before the group’s allotted fifteen minutes in front of the painting.
