Paris · experience
A three-course French dinner with wine and Champagne, then the can-can and variety show at Europe’s oldest cabaret — designed by Gustave Eiffel, and better reviewed than the marquee name down the street.
The experience
Le Paradis Latin is the oldest cabaret in Europe, its current hall designed by Gustave Eiffel after the original 1803 building burned down. The evening opens with a three-course French dinner from 7:30pm, with a choice of two seasonal menus and a singer performing between courses.
From around 9:30pm the cabaret itself begins — a fast-moving variety show of singing, dancing, comedy and can-can, with costumes changing throughout and no formal intermission. It is a traditional Paris cabaret evening, with the second half more suggestive than the first.
A half-bottle of red wine and a quarter-bottle of Champagne accompany the dinner; the seating plan is set on the day by the venue and cannot be requested in advance.
