Rio de Janeiro · experience
A self-guided visit to Maracanã Stadium’s locker room, players’ tunnel and football museum, at your own pace.
The experience
A self-guided, at-your-own-pace visit to Maracanã Stadium, built in 1950 and twice a World Cup final venue, in 1950 and 2014, as well as the host of the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies.
The route takes in the locker room, the players’ tunnel, the dugout and the press conference room, alongside a museum exhibition on the history of Brazilian football — the same stadium that has also hosted Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and a Mass said by Pope John Paul II.
