São Paulo · experience
A small-group guided visit to the São Paulo Museum of Art’s glass-easel collection, from European masters to Brazilian modernism.
The experience
A guided walk through the São Paulo Museum of Art, the concrete-and-glass landmark raised on red pillars above Avenida Paulista by architect Lina Bo Bardi in 1968, home to the largest collection of Western art in the Southern Hemisphere.
The guide moves through the museum’s signature glass easels, which display paintings free-standing rather than against a wall, taking in works spanning Raphael, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Picasso and Brazilian modernist Cândido Portinari.
