Upper Belvedere: Klimt’s The Kiss & the palace collection

Direct, skip-the-line entry to the Upper Belvedere — Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss, Austria’s national collection and the current temporary exhibition, seen at your own pace rather than a guide’s schedule.

The experience

Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss, on your own schedule.

The Belvedere is split across two palaces facing each other over a formal garden; this ticket covers the Upper Belvedere, home to the world’s largest Klimt collection, including The Kiss. It is a direct-entry ticket rather than a guided tour, so the pace through the galleries is entirely yours.

Beyond Klimt, the Upper Belvedere holds Austria’s national collection from medieval altarpieces to nineteenth- and twentieth-century painting — among them works by Egon Schiele, Caspar David Friedrich and Vincent van Gogh — plus a rotating temporary exhibition and the Marble Hall.

It suits a stay where the Klimt collection is the priority and a fixed guided timetable is not wanted. The Lower Belvedere, across the garden, is a separate ticket and building.
