Vienna · experience
A half-day escape to Vienna’s Weinviertel wine country: tastings at two or three family wineries, a traditional Austrian meal and round-trip transport from the city.
The experience
The Weinviertel is Austria’s largest wine region and sits close enough to Vienna for a half-day escape rather than a full expedition. This tour collects guests centrally, drives out into the region’s rolling countryside, and stops at two or three family-run wineries for tastings — around eight to twelve glasses in total, poured by the people who make the wine.
A two-course traditional Austrian meal sits at the centre of the visit, alongside coffee, tea and water for the drive. The pace is unhurried and the group small enough that conversation with the winemakers is part of the experience, not an afterthought.
It works well as a change of register from central Vienna: countryside, agriculture and a slower kind of hospitality, all within a half-day that returns guests to the city by evening.
