How this ride works

A first look at Munich, in one loop.

Munich is a city of distances: the royal summer palace lies in the west, the Olympic Park in the north, the English Garden along the river, and the old town in the middle. On foot or by underground they are separate half-days. With a car and a local driver they are a single loop of two hours.

Six stops in two hours are a choice, not a checklist. You are free to take only some of them, and we recommend agreeing your selection with the driver at the start, so that more of the time goes to the places where you would like to get out and look. The ride is door to door, from your hotel or address and back to it.

Standard ride rules

  • Choose all, some or none of the suggested landmarks. The route is yours, provided it remains practical within the confirmed two-hour service and the traffic conditions in Munich. We recommend agreeing your choice with the driver at the start, so that more of the time goes to the places that matter most to you.
  • You decide how to use the time at the stops: an exterior look, photographs, a short walk or simply a slower drive past. The driver helps keep the sequence workable rather than following a rigid sightseeing timetable.
  • The service begins and ends at a hotel or another address within Munich. Airport and railway-station connections are not part of this ride and are arranged as a separate transfer.
  • The driver provides collection, private transport, waiting and the nearest practical drop-off and pick-up point for each stop. They are local and can offer practical suggestions, but they are not a licensed tour guide and do not provide guided services inside sights.

Suggested route

A route shaped around the real day.

Munich address → chosen highlights → Munich address. The map is an illustrative route across Munich. It is normally wiser to choose the landmarks that matter most than to try to enter every one. Traffic controls, events, access restrictions and the exact collection address can change the order on the day.

Illustrative stop sequence

What the ride can hold.

01 · Confirmed point

Your chosen meeting point

Meet at your hotel or another address within Munich. The driver confirms the most practical collection point before the ride, particularly where one-way streets or access restrictions affect the approach.

02 · Suggested stop

Nymphenburg Palace

The summer residence of the Bavarian electors and kings, begun in 1664 and extended until its front measured more than 600 metres from wing to wing. The canal, the forecourt and the large park behind the palace are free to walk; the state rooms and the park pavilions are ticketed and not part of the ride. It lies west of the centre, about twenty minutes by car.

03 · Suggested stop

Olympic Park

The park built for the 1972 Olympic Games, on a hill made from the rubble of the war: a stadium, a hall and a pool under one sweeping roof of acrylic glass, a lake, and the Olympic Tower above them. A short walk up the Olympiaberg gives the best view of the roof, and on a clear day of the Alps. It is still in daily use for concerts and sport.

04 · Suggested stop

BMW Welt

The glass-and-steel hall opened in 2007 beside the Olympic Park, where new cars are handed over to their owners and the current models are on show, with the four-cylinder headquarters tower of 1972 next to it. Entry to BMW Welt is free and a quick look inside takes a quarter of an hour; the BMW Museum across the road is ticketed and needs longer.

05 · Suggested stop

English Garden

One of the largest city parks in the world, laid out from 1789 along the Isar and stretching north from the centre for some five kilometres. The driver stops at its edge; ten minutes on foot bring you to the Monopteros, the small round temple with a view back to the towers of the old town, or to the beer garden at the Chinese Tower.

06 · Suggested stop

Odeonsplatz

The most Italian square in Munich: the Feldherrnhalle, a loggia copied from Florence in the 1840s, the yellow Baroque Theatine Church, and the Residenz of the Bavarian kings with its court garden beside them. From here the Ludwigstrasse runs north in a straight line to the Victory Gate.

07 · Suggested stop

Marienplatz

The central square of Munich since the city was founded, filled on one side by the neo-Gothic New Town Hall. Its Glockenspiel plays at eleven and at noon, and in the summer months again at five. The square is closed to traffic, so the driver takes you to the closest practical point and waits while you walk the last few minutes.

08 · Confirmed point

Your agreed final address

Finish back at your hotel, or at another agreed address within Munich: a restaurant, a concert hall, a friend’s door. The driver selects the closest practical point for drop-off within local access rules.

Useful tips

A few details that make the ride easier.

  • Nymphenburg is the furthest of the six stops and takes the largest share of a two-hour ride. If it matters to you, say so at the start and the driver will plan the rest around it; if it does not, leaving it out gives the other five room to breathe.
  • Keep passports, tickets, valuables and essential medication with you rather than in a vehicle left at a stop.
  • Tell us about a folding wheelchair, child seat or mobility needs before confirmation; the right vehicle and access points can then be arranged in advance.
  • In the historic centre, local access rules may mean a short walk from the closest permitted vehicle point. Comfortable footwear is enough for this route; it is not a strenuous walking tour.

Ride FAQ

Can I customise the ride?

Yes. You may choose all, some or none of the suggested stops, and request another order. The final plan must remain practical within the confirmed two-hour service and local traffic or access conditions.

What happens after I book?

Your payment confirmation is sent immediately. We then send the practical service details, including the assigned driver and vehicle, once the ride has been scheduled. Payment does not by itself mean the operational service is already assigned.

What if the service cannot be provided?

This is exceptional, but if we cannot provide the booked service we will offer a suitable alternative or arrange a full refund.

What is the cancellation policy?

You may cancel at least 24 hours before the confirmed pickup time for a full refund to the original payment method within five business days. If we confirm a driver no-show, we will also issue a full refund within five business days.

Will there be an official tour guide?

No. The driver is local and may offer practical suggestions, but is not a licensed guide and does not provide guided visits inside sights.

Can we go inside the sights?

The ride is built around exterior stops. If you would like to visit an interior, reserve the entry separately and tell us when booking, so the route and the waiting time can be shaped around it.

Do I need to be in good physical shape?

No special fitness is needed. This is vehicle-led; the only walking is optional at the chosen stops and can be adapted to mobility needs and the day’s pace.

Can the ride start or end at the airport?

Not this one. The ride begins and ends at a hotel or another address within Munich. For an arrival or a departure, ask us for a separate transfer.
