How this ride works

The city, once the lights are on.

Munich changes character in the evening. The old town empties of shoppers and fills its beer halls, the public buildings along the Isar are lit, and the quarter around Gärtnerplatz comes to life. Three hours with a car take in all of it, with time to step out for photographs and no need to think about the way back.

The ride starts at your hotel or address at the time you choose and returns you there, or leaves you at a restaurant, a bar or a beer hall. Take all six suggested stops or only some, and agree the choice with the driver at the start: the Olympic Park lies furthest out, and the view from its hill is the one most people remember.

Standard ride rules

  • Choose all, some or none of the suggested landmarks. The route is yours, provided it remains practical within the confirmed three-hour service and the traffic conditions in Munich. We recommend agreeing your choice with the driver at the start, so that more of the time goes to the places that matter most to you.
  • You decide how to use the time at the stops: an exterior look, photographs, a short walk or simply a slower drive past. The driver helps keep the sequence workable rather than following a rigid sightseeing timetable.
  • The service begins and ends at a hotel or another address within Munich. Airport and railway-station connections are not part of this ride and are arranged as a separate transfer.
  • The driver provides collection, private transport, waiting and the nearest practical drop-off and pick-up point for each stop. They are local and can offer practical suggestions, but they are not a licensed tour guide and do not provide guided services inside sights.

Suggested route

A route shaped around the real day.

Munich address → chosen highlights → Munich address. The map is an illustrative route across Munich. It is normally wiser to choose the landmarks that matter most than to try to enter every one. Traffic controls, events, access restrictions and the exact collection address can change the order on the day.

Illustrative stop sequence

What the ride can hold.

01 · Confirmed point

Your chosen meeting point

Meet at your hotel or another address within Munich. The driver confirms the most practical collection point before the ride, particularly where one-way streets or access restrictions affect the approach.

02 · Suggested stop

Marienplatz

Marienplatz after the shops have closed, with the long front of the New Town Hall lit and the twin towers of the Frauenkirche behind it. The square is closed to traffic, so the driver takes you to its edge and waits while you walk in.

03 · Suggested stop

Hofbräuhaus

The most famous beer hall in the world, founded as the court brewery in 1589 and in this building since the 1890s. The great vaulted hall on the ground floor seats well over a thousand, with a brass band most evenings. Nobody minds if you walk in to look. It stands on a pedestrian square a few minutes from Marienplatz; if you would like to stay for a beer, the ride can end here.

04 · Suggested stop

Olympiapark

The Olympic Park after dark, when the tower is lit and the tent roof glows above the lake. From the top of the Olympiaberg, a walk of ten minutes on a lit path, the lights of the whole city lie to the south. On concert evenings the roads around the park are busy, and the driver may suggest seeing it earlier or later in the ride.

05 · Suggested stop

Maximilianeum

The palace on the high bank of the Isar that closes the view along Maximilianstrasse, built for King Maximilian II and finished in 1874, and since 1949 the seat of the Bavarian parliament. Lit at night and reflected in the river, it is best seen from the bridge below it.

06 · Suggested stop

Gärtnerplatz

A round square of the 1860s with flower beds in the middle and a theatre on one side, and the centre of the liveliest quarter of the city in the evening: bars, small restaurants and cafés in every street that leads off it. A good place to end the ride if you have no dinner plans yet.

07 · Suggested stop

Sendlinger Tor

One of the three surviving gates of medieval Munich, first recorded in 1318: two ivy-covered brick towers and a single wide arch at the southern end of the old town. The street that begins behind it leads past the small, extravagant Asam Church back to Marienplatz.

08 · Confirmed point

Your agreed final address

Finish back at your hotel, or at another agreed address within Munich: a restaurant, a concert hall, a friend’s door. The driver selects the closest practical point for drop-off within local access rules.

Useful tips

A few details that make the ride easier.

  • If you have a dinner reservation, or would like to finish at the Hofbräuhaus or on Gärtnerplatz, tell us the time and the address: the ride can end there instead of at your hotel.
  • Keep passports, tickets, valuables and essential medication with you rather than in a vehicle left at a stop.
  • Tell us about a folding wheelchair, child seat or mobility needs before confirmation; the right vehicle and access points can then be arranged in advance.
  • In the historic centre, local access rules may mean a short walk from the closest permitted vehicle point. Comfortable footwear is enough for this route; it is not a strenuous walking tour.

Before booking

Ride FAQ

Can I customise the ride?

Yes. You may choose all, some or none of the suggested stops, and request another order. The final plan must remain practical within the confirmed three-hour service and local traffic or access conditions.

What happens after I book?

Your payment confirmation is sent immediately. We then send the practical service details, including the assigned driver and vehicle, once the ride has been scheduled. Payment does not by itself mean the operational service is already assigned.

What if the service cannot be provided?

This is exceptional, but if we cannot provide the booked service we will offer a suitable alternative or arrange a full refund.

What is the cancellation policy?

You may cancel at least 24 hours before the confirmed pickup time for a full refund to the original payment method within five business days. If we confirm a driver no-show, we will also issue a full refund within five business days.

Will there be an official tour guide?

No. The driver is local and may offer practical suggestions, but is not a licensed guide and does not provide guided visits inside sights.

Can we go inside the sights?

The ride is built around exterior stops. If you would like to visit an interior, reserve the entry separately and tell us when booking, so the route and the waiting time can be shaped around it.

Do I need to be in good physical shape?

No special fitness is needed. This is vehicle-led; the only walking is optional at the chosen stops and can be adapted to mobility needs and the day’s pace.

Can the ride start or end at the airport?

Not this one. The ride begins and ends at a hotel or another address within Munich. For an arrival or a departure, ask us for a separate transfer.
