How this ride works
A long drive, and worth it.
Český Krumlov is the small town in southern Bohemia that looks as if it had been drawn: a castle on a rock, a painted tower, and a few hundred red roofs held in a loop of the Vltava. The whole centre is listed by UNESCO.
It is also the longest drive of our day trips from Prague, about two and a half hours each way, so eight hours door to door leave around three in the town. That is enough for the castle courtyards and the tower, a walk through the old town and lunch by the river. If you would like longer, ask us about a longer day or an overnight stay.
Standard ride rules
- The eight-hour service is counted door to door, from collection in Prague to your return, and includes the drive of about two and a half hours each way.
- Choose all, some or none of the suggested stops, and divide the time in Český Krumlov as you wish. The driver waits, moves the car between the stops where that helps, and keeps the return on time.
- The service begins and ends at a hotel or another address within Prague. Airport and railway-station connections are not part of this ride and are arranged as a separate transfer.
- The driver provides collection, private transport, waiting and the nearest practical drop-off and pick-up point for each stop. They are local and can offer practical suggestions, but they are not a licensed tour guide and do not provide guided services inside sights.

The castle above the town, the second-largest castle complex in the country after Prague Castle. The courtyards, the bridge and the gardens are walked at your own pace; the painted tower and the interiors are seen with the castle’s own tickets and tours, which are seasonal.

The Vltava and the old town
The river bends almost into a circle around the old town. A walk along it and through the lanes inside the loop, with lunch on a terrace above the water, is the other half of the visit. The old town is closed to cars; the driver leaves you at the nearest permitted point.

Useful tips
A few details that make the ride easier.
- An early start makes this day. Leaving Prague by eight puts you in the town before the day’s coach groups.
- Keep passports, tickets, valuables and essential medication with you rather than in a vehicle left at a stop.
- Tell us about a folding wheelchair, child seat or mobility needs before confirmation; the right vehicle and access points can then be arranged in advance.
- Tell us about any reserved entry or tour time when you book, so that the collection time can be set around it.

Can I customise the ride?
Yes. You may choose all, some or none of the suggested stops, and request another order. The final plan must remain practical within the confirmed eight-hour service, the driving time and the conditions on the day.
How is the time counted?
Door to door. The eight hours run from collection in Prague to your return and include the drive of about two and a half hours each way; the rest is yours in Český Krumlov.
What happens after I book?
Your payment confirmation is sent immediately. We then send the practical service details, including the assigned driver and vehicle, once the ride has been scheduled. Payment does not by itself mean the operational service is already assigned.
What if the service cannot be provided?
This is exceptional, but if we cannot provide the booked service we will offer a suitable alternative or arrange a full refund.
What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel at least 24 hours before the confirmed pickup time for a full refund to the original payment method within five business days. If we confirm a driver no-show, we will also issue a full refund within five business days.
Will there be an official tour guide?
No. The driver is local and may offer practical suggestions, but is not a licensed guide and does not provide guided visits inside sights.
Are entry tickets included?
No. The fare covers the vehicle, the driver, fuel, motorway tolls and parking. Tickets and tours at the sights, where they are needed, are bought or reserved separately. If you reserve a timed entry, tell us when booking, so that the day can be shaped around it.
Do I need to be in good physical shape?
A moderate level is enough. The old town is closed to cars and is seen entirely on foot, on cobbles, with a climb to the castle. The driver brings you to the nearest permitted point.
Can the ride start or end at the airport?
Not this one. The day begins and ends at a hotel or another address within Prague. For an arrival or a departure, ask us for a separate transfer.
