Day Trip to Karlovy Vary from Prague

A private eight-hour ride from Prague to Karlovy Vary: the Moser glassworks and a long walk through the colonnades of the spa town, with collection and return at your address.

8 hours in total, from collection in Prague to your returnPrivate vehicle

How this ride works

Glass in the morning, the colonnades after lunch.

Karlovy Vary is the grandest of the Bohemian spa towns: a narrow wooded valley lined with colonnades and nineteenth-century hotels, where the hot springs are still drunk from spouted porcelain cups. On the way in, the Moser glassworks shows a craft that has been practised here since 1857.

The drive takes about two hours each way, so eight hours door to door leave around four in Karlovy Vary: the glassworks first, then the walk through the spa centre and lunch.

Standard ride rules

  • The eight-hour service is counted door to door, from collection in Prague to your return, and includes the drive of about two hours each way.
  • Choose all, some or none of the suggested stops, and divide the time in Karlovy Vary as you wish. The driver waits, moves the car between the stops where that helps, and keeps the return on time.
  • The service begins and ends at a hotel or another address within Prague. Airport and railway-station connections are not part of this ride and are arranged as a separate transfer.
  • The driver provides collection, private transport, waiting and the nearest practical drop-off and pick-up point for each stop. They are local and can offer practical suggestions, but they are not a licensed tour guide and do not provide guided services inside sights.

Illustrative stop sequence

What the ride can hold.

01 · Confirmed point

Your chosen meeting point

Meet at your hotel or another address within Prague. The driver confirms the most practical collection point before the ride, and the drive to Karlovy Vary takes about two hours.

02 · Chosen with you

Moser Glass Factory

The glassworks founded by Ludwig Moser in 1857, which still makes hand-blown and hand-cut crystal. The visitor centre has a museum and a sales gallery, and the factory’s own tour takes you to the furnaces to watch the glassmakers at work. The tour is ticketed and runs on set days and at set times.

03 · Chosen with you

A walk through the spa town

The centre of Karlovy Vary is a long, largely car-free walk along the River Teplá: pastel façades, the Mill Colonnade and the Market Colonnade, and the hot spring that rises as a geyser inside its own hall. The driver leaves you at one end of the walk and meets you at the other.

04 · Confirmed point

Your agreed final address

Return to your hotel, or to another agreed address within Prague, such as a restaurant for dinner. The driver selects the closest practical point for drop-off within local access rules.

  • • Admission tickets and tours at the sights, meals, drinks, gratuities or personal purchases.
  • • Additional time, waiting, distance, unplanned stops or a route materially beyond the confirmed eight-hour service.

Useful tips

A few details that make the ride easier.

  • The spring water is drunk warm, from a spouted porcelain cup sold at every colonnade. Each spring has a different temperature; the taste is mineral and not to everyone’s liking.
  • Keep passports, tickets, valuables and essential medication with you rather than in a vehicle left at a stop.
  • Tell us about a folding wheelchair, child seat or mobility needs before confirmation; the right vehicle and access points can then be arranged in advance.
  • Tell us about any reserved entry or tour time when you book, so that the collection time can be set around it.

Ride FAQ

Can I customise the ride?

Yes. You may choose all, some or none of the suggested stops, and request another order. The final plan must remain practical within the confirmed eight-hour service, the driving time and the conditions on the day.

How is the time counted?

Door to door. The eight hours run from collection in Prague to your return and include the drive of about two hours each way; the rest is yours in Karlovy Vary.

What happens after I book?

Your payment confirmation is sent immediately. We then send the practical service details, including the assigned driver and vehicle, once the ride has been scheduled. Payment does not by itself mean the operational service is already assigned.

What if the service cannot be provided?

This is exceptional, but if we cannot provide the booked service we will offer a suitable alternative or arrange a full refund.

What is the cancellation policy?

You may cancel at least 24 hours before the confirmed pickup time for a full refund to the original payment method within five business days. If we confirm a driver no-show, we will also issue a full refund within five business days.

Will there be an official tour guide?

No. The driver is local and may offer practical suggestions, but is not a licensed guide and does not provide guided visits inside sights.

Are entry tickets included?

No. The fare covers the vehicle, the driver, fuel, motorway tolls and parking. Tickets and tours at the sights, where they are needed, are bought or reserved separately. If you reserve a timed entry, tell us when booking, so that the day can be shaped around it.

Do I need to be in good physical shape?

No special fitness is needed. The car brings you as close to each stop as access rules allow; the sights themselves are seen on foot, at your own pace, and the day can be adapted to mobility needs.

Can the ride start or end at the airport?

Not this one. The day begins and ends at a hotel or another address within Prague. For an arrival or a departure, ask us for a separate transfer.
